Different design approach leads to space-saving S1 sauna

Specifically designed to take up a minimum of space, Klafs has unveiled a fully enclosed, mobile sauna.

In its fully retracted position the ‘S1’ is 60cm deep, with innovative ‘eMove’ technology taking it from a closed position to a ready-to-use sauna nearly three times as deep in 20 seconds.

The transformation takes place at the touch of a button on a front panel and is comparable to a zoom lens on a camera, according to Klafs. The S1 consists of three elements which can be completely fitted into each other, using the flexible connection eMove technology, which is patent-pending.

A safety sensor stops the cabin when something gets in the way, and it can only retract and extend when the buttons are pressed continuously. Additionally, the cabin can only be retracted after the heater has cooled down. Controls can be secured with a password.

Klafs says it has also focused on creating a high-quality and well-designed sauna. The S1 is available in three sizes, with five different exterior trims – white, white satin, Swiss pine, walnut and oak.

There are also four different front panels to choose from: fully glazed with clear safety glass, fully glazed with bronze safety glass, fully glazed with mirrored safety glass, and closed with a side window. The S1 is also available with a folding bench for lying comfortably in pairs.

Klafs says the S1 has been in development for three years, and can be ordered from mid-July.
